Meet the Director of Fun

Father.

I’m the father to 3 amazing boys who all share my enthusiasm for life and boundless energy.

Husband.

I am so lucky to have married the woman of my dreams who is also a phenomenal mom.

Home.

At the moment, we call Bend, OR home, but my heart is really in Henderson, NV.

Backyard Adventurer.

When I’m not hosting events, you can almost certainly find me out on some wild backyard adventure.

Alumni.

Graduated in 2002 from Virginia Tech with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, but more importantly, I left school with some lifelong friendships.

Foundation.

I attribute a lot of my success in business, and in life, to the experience and education that I gained by spending the first 7-years of my professional career working for The Ritz-Carlton.

Entrepreneur.

In 2009, by business partner and I started R&D Events and grew our initial $500 investment into $5M in revenue by the time we reached our five year anniversary.

Passion.

My greatest passion in business is designing events where the intention is to have a positive impact in the lives of someone in need.

Time.

The single most important thing to me is being able to choose how I get to spend my time. Time is our most precious commodity and I do my best everyday to never waste a minute of it.

Heaven.

Prior to Instagram and the pandemic, if you would have asked me where I felt the most alive, I would say Zion NP. But nowadays, with the cues, lines and permits to just get in the park, I may need to rethink my answer…

Allergy.

I know it sounds weird, but I am allergic to chocolate (cocoa to be exact). It’s hereditary and was passed along to my father from his mother, and most likely, at least one of my sons will be allergic (sorry boys).

Random Fact.

I still navigate using paper maps. I know it sounds crazy, but on all road trips, GPS is forbidden and all navigation takes place using the good ole atlas.

183 Days.

When you add it all up, I have spent over half of year visiting the Hawaiian islands. My wife is from Maui so we try and go back as often as we can to see our friends and family.

3,500.

My event producing career started in 2004. Since then, I have designed, produced and hosted over 3,500 events in 28 states, and 3 countries.

$100K Event.

My most memorable event was a 400 person, 40-team dodgeball tournament we produced back in 2014. To this day, it is still the coolest thing I have ever been a part of and the first event I ever charged 6-figures to produce.

1 in a Million Job.

Being the Director of Fun is not just a job title, but a way of life. I am so blessed to have this job and I always try and find a way to make everything I do fun.
